About
Tasker Payment Gateways is an independent payments consultancy for merchants selling restricted products. They aren't a gateway — they find you a high-risk merchant account and a gateway that will approve your category. You can then connect that gateway in your Foxy account. The most common gateways in this space are NMI, Authorize.net, or eProcessingNetwork. Foxy integrates with all of those and nearly 100 other gateways.

Where Tasker fits

Taking a card payment online involves three separate things. Most stores never have to think about them separately, which is why high-risk processing can seem more complicated than it is.

Layer

What it does

Who

01

Merchant account

The bank relationship that lets you accept cards. This is where your product category gets approved — or doesn’t.

Tasker places this

02

Payment gateway

The software that passes card data between Foxy Commerce and the bank. Authorize.Net, NMI are commonly used.

Tasker sets this up

03

Cart & checkout

Collects the order, applies tax and shipping, handles PCI, sends the transaction to the gateway.

This is Foxy

Stripe, PayPal, Square, Shopify Payments and Wix Payments bundle all three into one signup. That’s what makes them easy — and it’s why they’re the ones that shut you down.

When you sell something those bundled providers don’t allow, you have to take the stack apart and source each layer separately. Tasker handles the first two. Foxy is the third.

Why the easy processors say no

Stripe, PayPal and Square use an aggregator model: thousands of merchants share one master account. It’s why you can be taking payments twenty minutes after signing up, and it’s also why their prohibited-product lists are so broad. One risky category raises exposure for everyone in the pool, so enforcement is automated and abrupt — usually an account freeze with funds held for months.

A dedicated merchant account is underwritten for your business specifically. It takes paperwork, it takes a few days, and the rates are typically higher. In exchange, it’s yours, and it’s approved for your business.

The gateways you’ll end up on

Authorize.Net

The most common destination, and a sensible default. It’s been around long enough that nearly every high-risk acquiring bank supports it, it’s stable, and it’s thoroughly documented. Connects natively to Foxy.

NMI

Used when one merchant account isn’t enough — multiple entities under one checkout, spreading volume across several banks, or keeping a backup account live in case one gets shut off. Also the better choice if you’ll add in-person or omnichannel selling later. Connects natively to Foxy.

Both are direct integrations. You paste your credentials into Foxy’s admin — no middleware, no custom code, no developer required for the connection itself.

Categories Tasker works with

CBD and hemp · vape and e-liquid · premium cigars and tobacco · pipes, bongs and glassware · FFL dealers and firearms accessories · tactical and survival gear · beer, wine and spirits · nutritional supplements

Merchants can also land in high-risk underwriting for reasons that have nothing to do with the product — high average order values, subscription billing, or a chargeback history. Tasker handles those too.

How it works

  1. Talk to Tasker. Free, and there’s no cost to you to find out if they can place you

  2. They place you. A merchant account and gateway matched to your category, volume and risk profile.

  3. Connect it to Foxy. Paste your gateway credentials into the Foxy admin.

  4. Go live on the site you already have. Webflow, Framer, WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, or something custom — Foxy adds the cart and checkout to any platform, CMS, app or static site.

FAQ

Is Tasker a payment gateway?
No. They’re an independent consultancy that places you with a merchant account and a gateway. The gateway you end up using is typically Authorize.Net , eProcessingNetwork or NMI.

What does Tasker charge?
Nothing. They’re compensated by the providers they refer you to, the way an independent insurance broker is.

Is Foxy a merchant of record?
No. You hold your own merchant account and gateway, and the money moves directly between your processor and your bank. Foxy is the cart and checkout layer — which also means Foxy isn’t the one deciding whether your products are allowed.

Do I have to rebuild my site?
No. Foxy adds a cart and checkout to the site you already have, on whatever platform it’s built on.

Can I use Foxy without Tasker?
Yes. If you already have a merchant account and a gateway, connect it and go. Tasker is there for merchants who need to find one.
