Custom tax endpoint overview
How a custom tax endpoint works: your own server calculates and returns tax rates for a cart, useful when built-in tax options or supported integrations don't cover your needs.
If Foxy’s built-in tax settings and third-party tax services cannot handle your requirements — rates from an ERP, highly specific thresholds, or a system Foxy does not support natively — point Foxy at your own tax endpoint and calculate the tax yourself.
How it works
For each relevant event, Foxy sends a payload mirroring the API format to your endpoint, and your endpoint responds with the tax to apply. The mechanism is the same idea as the custom shipping endpoint, applied to tax.
