Change Existing Subscription Price in the Foxy Admin

How to change the amount charged for an existing subscription in the Foxy admin.

You can change what a subscription charges by editing the price on its items. The new price applies to future payments. Transactions that have already processed aren't affected.

Steps

    Go to the Foxy admin

    Go to Subscriptions

  3. 3

    Find the customer's subscription. Use the filter icon at the top of the list to narrow the results.

    Click the subscription to open its details

  5. 5

    Under Items, click the item you want to reprice

  6. 6

    Enter the new amount in the Price field

  7. 7

    Click Save

The subscription details reload with the updated totals, and that new total is what the customer is charged going forward.

Notes

  • Price is the per unit amount. The line total is price multiplied by Quantity, so check both if the total isn't what you expect.

  • If the item has a discount applied, the discount recalculates against the new price. A percentage discount on a repriced item produces a different total than before, so confirm the Total at the bottom of the subscription before you leave the page.

  • Subscriptions with more than one item need each item repriced separately. The total is the sum of all items.

  • To reduce the charge temporarily rather than permanently, a line item discount or a coupon code is usually a better fit than changing the price.

  • The item panel also holds Quantity, Item category, Code, and sections for item options, dimensions, and discounts. Changing price doesn't touch any of those.
